I have lived and worked in community development in Afghanistan, and
India for 12 years . Now back in Australia, I have worked for 20 years
in settlement of refugees .I am currently supporting African refugees,
from Somalia,Sudan,and Eritrea.
I run the Last –First Community Development Booshop online and would like to introduce One World Jewellery ,Beads and Crafts.
I like to work with beads and make tribal jewellery, and one off
necklaces and bracelets and earings .I have expressed my creativity by
making jewellery and would like to add these to be alongside the
Community Development Books I sell, as the jewellery represents the way
I have been able to continue in tensive involvement with stuggling
communities for so many.
Whatever pieces I make I will photograph and make them available for
people to buy. Many of the pieces will not be repeated as I cannot get
the beads again. Beads I can get more of,these pieces of jewellery I
may repeat.
I will always have, yellow jades,turquoise,in blues and unusual mid
greens, agates in rusts and carnelians ,chyroprase,corals in reds, rust
and apricots.Other Gemstones will be available that I can find.
The influences upon my tastes living in Afghanistan with Lapis Lesuli,
and Indias Torquoises and garnets, and African Trade Beads,Silver and
Brass wash Beads Potted beads wooden beads carved beads allshapes and
colours.Glass Beads,Fired Beads,Metal beads and unusual findings and
threads .I would like to pass on my enthusiasm for finding the beads,
and making pieces and using the gemstones and glass,pottery
resins,shells pearls and inspire people to view the jewellery pieces
to start making their own.
I would like to continue to make one off pieces to sell to you using
metals,gemstones, Glass wood stone, pottery, selected from all over the
world.
I would like to make available small packs of beads and unusal findings
and threads for people to start enjoying nice quality beads and
jewellery making. I would also like to sell strands for people to make
jewellery also.
I would like to introduce handcrafts, as I sold these as the markets
for the past 20 years and have a love for them.I will start with carved
metal jewellery boxes and add more pieces to the Handcrafts section.
I hope to make available bulk beads supplies for schools for crafts classes.
