OUR STORY

Vonney and Marty went to Wellington New Zealand with their 2 children Lila and Kaedin to be trained in the art of roasting on an old European style roaster and to gain Barista Training, and to experience all aspects of running and managing it and to breathe in the powerful Coffee culture and ethos that flows out of Wellington.

They took with them Ezra and Jamie and Soma and their two adorable children. Jamie has a coffee shop which has cultlike status in New Farm.

All kinds of interesting and colourful characters frequent the benches located near graffiti filled  walls surrounding the coffee hang out. People go for the the experience of coffee culture and the friendships and  for the prolific exchange of artistic ideas that are pollinating there.

  All of them  who went to New Zealand entered the wonderful experience and breathed deeply of this new wave of high standards in roasting and making coffees.People there love beautiful quality coffees and make time to make it well and sit together and drink it well. Its a passion to love the coffee culture that is synonymous with Wellington and to draw others into this love affair that is coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Ezra and Mary are top Baristas, and they has also joined Marty and Vonney in their new coffee venture .

They understand and are committed to ensure the quality and ethos of fair trade for farmers who grow the coffee and that the need to maintain a high quality of freshly roasted blends using the right equipment and perfecting the procedures necessary to get the tastes and smooth flavours this freshly roasted coffee affords.

Vonney and Marty roasted daily and there children were included in the whole experience.

They now have their own roastery in a hide away  under the large moreton bay fig trees.If you drive too quickly you will miss it and they will miss you! A permaculture garden surrounds it.

  They have their very own old style 1950s Probat from Europe.It roasts like a charm!

It is located at the historical South Leagues Club a small shed where they pump out the the freshly roasted blends.The aroma wafting in the air unmistakably freshly roasted coffee!!!!!!!!!

They sell at a stall at the West End Markets on Saturday Markets and people flock to buy this highly prized freshly ground coffee with their various blends.

They have a  coffee cart outside the main newly placed location for the City Council workers called Green Square in the valley. A new up and coming development. They have the cart outside the entry Of the City Council Building.

I would like to see people in groups everywhere gathering in a different way from what we are used to Slowing down, taking the time to sit in our morning and afternoon and lunch  breaks to take in the charm of high quality freshly roasted plunger coffee. Making time to enjoy and savour moments we have in life,in the middle of our craziness, fast and frenetic lifetyles.

  The art of drinking coffee we are as a family doing this so………much more these days with each other and friends .Youd be surprised how the mood changes , the aromas wafting in the room, people want to sit and chat and be friendly and this creates the coffee culture we so need to encourage.
