New Zulu Grass Jewellery
Coming Soon New Zulu Grass Jewellery!!!!!!!!!!!
My name is Angie Andrews. I am a Brisbane based Jewellery Designer. I also create social ventures for African Refugees. In the new year I will be creating a bead and jewellery initiative for newly arrived African Refugee women who can only get employment in the meatworks and as cleaners at night. The African Refugee women will be selling this gorgeous collection in the Brisbane Inner City Markets. I will take the Zulu grass and the Zulu Wood Collection to large stores, boutiques and fashion houses. From a blade of grass beautiful things can grow!
Now that it has surpassed beer as Australia's most preferred beverage, we're a little more discerning about the coffee we drink. Here at MAP we've recently developed a fondness for the 'Revolution Espresso' from the newest kid on the bean scene, Blackstar Coffee. Based in West End, Blackstar's mission is to use its coffee to generate income and small business opportunities for people from disadvantaged backgrounds, including the farmers who produce its beans. Available at the West End Markets and Jamies Espresso. (MAP Magazine, pg 50)
Cafe Grendel Review
Blackstar Coffee - Saturday, October 06, 2007
Two brown paper bags arrived from Queensland on Thursday.
Unlike other more famous QLD brown paper bags that I remember mention of as I was growing up in Brissie, mine were actually filled with something useful - coffee beans.
The Rev, a fellow commentator on Hamo's Blog, arranged to send me a bag of "The People's Blend" and "Revolution Espresso" from Blackstar Coffee, a social enterprise that this year was made part of a Brisbane City Council social enterprise hub – an initiative to assist social enterprises in growth and sustainability.
