Physical activity is ranked second to tobacco control in being the most important factor in health promotion and disease prevention in Australia.  Data from a national survey in 2000 showed that 54% Australians aged 18-75 years did not undertake sufficient physical activity to obtain a health benefit.  The health/social/economic costs of physical inactivity are incalculable. What can Australians do to maximise their physical activity and minimize exposure to ill health?
